Funeral services for Winfred Williams, 67, will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Marshall. Viewing Friday, October 20, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m.  at the funeral home. Winfred Williams was born February 9, 1956, in Marshall, TX. and died October 10, 2023, in Longview, TX.

A GLIMPSE OF THE LIFE OF WINFRED WILLIAMS.

Winfred "D. D." Williams was born February 9, 1956, to James L. Williams and Annie M. Allen Williams in Marshall, Texas. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education in the Marshall Public Schools. "D. D." enjoyed playing dominos (thinking he was the best), fishing, cooking (author of "East Texas Country Cooking"), eating Sunday dinner with his baby sister and family (saying "What you cook sweet"). He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Clint and Novella Allen, and a brother, Melvin L. Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Tirena (Charles) Mosley of Marshall, TX., Subrina Williams and Annie Williams both of Longview, TX.; two sisters, Helen Bailey and Laura Jones; three brothers, Rev. James L. (Dorothy) Williams, Jr., Carl (Lennetta) Williams and George (Vickie) Williams all of Marshall, TX.; five grandchildren, Charina Mosley, Keyshawn Mosley both of Marshall, TX., Elijah Mayfield, Elisha Williams and Kyla Scott all of Longview, TX.; one great grandson, Jahziel Mosley of Marshall, TX.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
