Funeral services for Shawn Christopher Spillmon, age 53, will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 noon. Interment will be Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville LA. Viewing will be Friday, April 10, 2026, from 1 to 6 p.m.at Lewis Funeral Home. Mr. Spillmon was born February 8, 1973, and departed this life March 29, 2026.

Chris was born in Harrison County, Texas on February 8, 1973, to Johnnie Faye Mosley and John Spillmon, Jr. Chris grew up in Marshall, Texas (Sunny South) where everyone, old and young, knew him. He attended and became an active member of St. Mark Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. E. M. Taylor at an early age. He worked relentlessly on the youth usher board and sang in the youth choir until he departed Marshall. Chris attended Marshall Public Schools and graduated from Marshall Sr. High School in 1991. Shortly after high school, being the impulsive child, he was, Chris went to Job Coprs in San Marcos, Texas. He left Job Corps and enlisted in the U. S. Army where he served his time and was discharged with an honorable discharge. As life continues, Chris attended Tri-State Semi-Drivers Training, Inc. in Waxahachie, Texas where he obtained his CDL. He drove for C.R. England, Builders Transportation, Davis Salt Water, and several other companies. Shawn Christopher Spillmon did not just exist, he lived. Chris was preceded in death by his father, John Spillmon, Jr.; maternal grandparents, John and Pearline Mosley; paternal grandparents, John and Ardelia Spillmmon; two brothers, three aunts and his favorite aunt Pat. Curtis. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Johnnie Fays Mosley; three sons, Shawn C. Walters (Kassel, Germany) Jatavion Spillmon (Carthage, TX), and Ja'Vare Spillmon (Marshall, TX); one daughter, Janea Spillmon (Marshall, TX); and a grandson, Dewayne Walters (Kassel, Germany); two sisters, Felecia Faggett (Rosenberg, TX) and Nikki (Richard) Wynn (Waskom, TX.); two brothers, Marvin (Dedra) Downs (Killeen, TX.) and Rodrick Spillmon; three aunts, Margaret Mosley, Annie Carter and Pearlie (Lawyer) Dotson; three uncles, John P. Mosley, William (Sandra) Curtis, and James (Doris) Jerry. Also left to cherish his memory are a multitude of cousins and friends.
