Sharon Dunn Caldwell was born to the parentage of Hartford Hunter Dunn and Nellie Dunn Thomas in Gilmer , Upshur County, Texas on February 3, 1954.

Sharon attended public school in the Marshall Independent School District. She went on to get her G.E.D. from Job Corps in Langston, Oklahoma and her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Langston University, Langston, Oklahoma in 1975.

Sharon accepted Jesus Christ at an early age; and was a faithful member of Second Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas until she was called home.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 25 years, Newell Caldwell of Marshall, Texas; daughter Alicia Holguin (Marcos) of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren: Renae Davila and Jose Davila of Fort Worth, Texas; mother: Nellie Dunn Thomas of Marshall, Texas; sisters: Sandra Dunn of Dallas, Texas, Beryl Dunn of Dallas, Texas and Audrey Thomas (Anthony) of Dallas, Texas; brothers: Donald Dunn, Sr. (Pamela) of Austin, Texas and Victor Dunn (Lillie) of Dallas, Texas; nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
