Mr. Raymond Brooks, Jr. was the only child born to the union of Mr. Raymond Brooks, Sr. & Ms. Mary Lee Wilson in Natchitoches, Louisiana on October 22, 1944.

As time progressed, he relocated to Marshall, Texas and he received his education at Pemberton High School.

Raymond accepted Christ at an early age and Grand Way Church of Christ in Marshall is where he regularly attended worship. He was gainfully employed at a meat packing plant in Dallas, Texas until he was unfortunately injured on the job which deemed him disabled at which time he was forced into retirement.

Mr. Brooks was well loved by those that knew him best. He enjoyed each day whether it was spent lounging at home, shooting the breeze with his friends or reminiscing about his younger years when he would sit around, performing and playing with well-known blues legends like Johnny Taylor & Tyrone Davis and many others.

He leaves to reflect on his memory his long-time companion, Ms. Ruby Brown of Marshall, TX & was faithfully instrumental in rearing and supporting her children and grandchildren. He also leaves his son, Terence Charles Raven (Tammy) from Nashville, Tennessee, grandchildren, great grands and a host of family and friends.
