Funeral services for Queen "Q.T." Woodkins , 96, will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Algoma Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, March 14, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home from 1 to 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Woodkins was born April 12, 1928, in Scottsville, TX. and died March 7, 2025, in Marshall, TX.

Miss Queen Thelma (Q. T.) Minniweather Woodkins was born on April 12, 1928, to the late Lawson and Pliney Minniweather. She was the seventh child of seven children. She was the mother of five children.

At an early age Miss Woodkins accepted Christ and joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She received her high school education at H. B. Pemberton High School.

Queen was known as a mother to a lot of people. In her young adult life Miss Woodkins not only cared for her own children, but others as well.

She was an exemplary example of the community and set a positive example of what an Usher Board President should be.

Miss Woodkins is survived by two daughters, Agnes Ornick of Scottsville, Texas and Alva Woodkins of Marshall, Texas; along with numerous grandchildren, great -grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; also, nieces, nephews and friends.
