Funeral services for Petties Ray Jones, 67, will be held in the Lewis Funeral Home chapel Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Rosehill Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, September 27, from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born April 11, 1957, in Marshall, TX. and died September 14, 2024, in Longview, TX.

Petties Ray was born April 11, 1957, in Marshall, Texas to Joseph J. Jones, Jr. and Dorothy Petties Jones. He was called to rest on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 67 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. Petties Ray attended Marshall High School and received his Associates Degree from Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas. He worked in drafting and architectural design technology for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. Jones, Jr. and Dorothy Petties Jones; his paternal grandparents, Joseph J. Jones, Sr. and Beatrice Humble Jones; his maternal grandparents, Frank Petties and Annie Mae Petties; and his brother, Bernard Wyatt Jones (Deborah). His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Shunta E. Jones Martinez, LaWanda K. Jones Hopkins (Marvin), and Natasha C. Jones; his sister, Nichole C. Jones Howard (Jarad); his grandchildren, Arrianne T. Martinez, Paige E. Fulton, MaKayla N. Hopkins, Tierra V. Hopkins, and Olivia M. Hopkins; his nieces and nephews, Jadah C. Howard, Jordyn C. Howard, and Jarad C. Howard, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
