Funeral service for Otha Ree Chapple, 85, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Leigh, TX. at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, January 12, 2024, from 2 to 6: p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home. Mrs. Chapple was born May 28, 1938, in Karnack, TX. and died January 5, 2024.

Otha Ree (Jordan) Chapple was born to the late Edward and Robbie Jordan in Karnack, TX. On May 28, 1938. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member at Antioch Baptist Church. She received her education from G. W. Carver.

In 1963, she united in matrimony with Clyde Chapple in Kilgore, TX. To this union, five children were born. Otha's favorite things to do was to have fun with her family and friends. She loved to dance and enjoyed family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband and beautiful daughter, Sonja (Chapple) Johnson; three brothers, Roy Jordan, W. J. Jordan and R. D. Jordan; two sisters, Gertha Jackson and Eula Bonner.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Sheila (Chapple) Smith, Gernard Chapple, Machell (Chapple) Hughes, and Karen (Chapple) Jones; seven grandchildren, Jecaron Deckard, Donald Smith, Jr., Donnita Smith, Devarick Chapple, Kendrick Chapple, Tyeisha Chapple and Tiateanna Jones; one beautiful sister Bernice Bonner; thirty-one great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
