Mrs. Nora Lee Brown was born June 18, 1926 in Harrison County, Texas to the late Jessie Ann Sneed Mitchell and Ruffus Mitchell.

She attended Elysian Fields Colored School until graduation in 1945. She became a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age. Here she remained a faithful and active member until death. She was the secretary of the Sunday School, member of the senior choir, president of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Usher Board and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She worked for Suburban Acres facility as a CNA and retired after 25 years in 1992.

Nora Lee married Berlin Brown April 24, 1946 in Harrison County, Texas. To this union, five children were born: Jessie Helen Stevenson, Vernon Brown, Melvin Brown, Minnie Pipkins and Kenneth Wayne Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Ann Sneed Mitchell and Ruffus Mitchell; son, Melvin Brown; five brothers, one sister and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Nora Lee Brown departed this life on Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas.

Mrs. Nora Lee Brown was full of life and enjoyed spending time at church and with family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. We will cherish your memory forever.
