Nelson J. Ruffin was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Emory Ruffin and Janie Ruffin on December 31, 1954. He joined church at an early age. He also sang in a young male choir.

He was married to Nina R. Dukes and had two children, Nelson Dominic Ruffin and Alicia Antonia Ruffin Marcha.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Nina Ruffin; children Nelson Dominic Ruffin and Alicia Antonia Ruffin Marcha and son-in-law, Raymond Marcha; three grandchildren; a sister, Yolanda May; brother, Walden Ruffin; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends and relatives in Kansas City, Missouri.

Nelson departed this life on Monday, May 18, 2020.

He will be missed so much by friends and relatives. We know he is with God now and resting peacefully.
