Funeral services for Marion Gerald Dunn,93, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. at 11:30 a.m. Viewing will be Friday, January 12, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Home from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Marion Gerald Dunn was born July 21, 1930, in Marshall, Texas to the parentage of Cornelius Dunn and Tempie Belle Bausley Dunn. He was the 7th of eleven children born to their parents' union.

Marion Gerald united, at an early age, with Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Koren War. After he was honorably discharged from military service, he moved to Fort Worth. Texas where he lived with two of his sisters. He returned to Marshall, Texas in 1979 to be with his family, and he reunited with the church in his hometown.

Marion Gerald attended Dunbar Elementary School and graduated from H. B. Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas.

He attended college prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he returned to college where he graduated from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas.

Marion Gerald never married, and no children were born to him.

Marion Gerald departed this life on January 1, 2024, in hospice care at Marshall Manor Nursing Home & Rehabilitation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Marion Gerald leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Hartford Hunter Dunn, of Marshall, Texas and Carl Calvin Dunn of Inglewood, California; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Boyd Dunn of Marshall, Texas He will be missed by four generations of nephews and nieces who reside in Texas, California, Georgia, and Oklahoma along with many friends.
