Ms. Lavender Walton of DeBerry, TX. (Anchorage, Alaska) went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, July 10, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1954, to the late Roosevelt and Odessa Walton,

Lavender attended Turner and Carthage High School and was a 1972 graduate. She attended Panola College. Later, she attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX. receiving her bachelor's and master's degree in education. Lavender taught school in Carthage, Tatum and Alaska where she later retired. She was a devoted teacher, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a devout Christian.

A viewing will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home. Funeral services for Ms. Walton will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, in DeBerry, TX. at the Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Sanders officiating. Interment will be in Crossroads Cemetery.
