Funeral services for James Earl Hutchinson will be held at the Westside Church of Christ Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon. Viewing Friday, April 19, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Home from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Interment will be in Rosehill Garden Cemetery.

James Earl Hutchinson (Skipper) was born on August 26, 1954, in Marshall, Texas. He was tenth out of thirteen children. He was born to the parentage of Clyde T. Hutchinson, Sr. and Bessie Mae Hutchinson.

James attended Marshall Public School and graduated in 1973 from Marshall High School. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, He remained until 1980.

James was baptized at Westside Church of Christ, but later in life began to attend the Grandway Church of Christ.

On April 9, 2024, James was called home to be with the Lord. He was united once again with his loving parents and brothers- Alton Smith, Lynnwell Smith, Henry Smith, Clyde T. Hutchinson, Jr., Melvin Hutchinson and Lewis (Jimmy) Smith. Also waiting on his arrival was loving sisters-Pearl Haynes, Debra Hutchinson and Carolyn Pilot.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Chamca (Bradrick) Starling and Jameca Hutchinson; three grandson-Bradrick Starling, Jr., King Wiley and Damien Kelly; three sisters-Yvonne (Clarence) Wheeler, Verna Thornton and Angela Pierce; one paternal aunt, Willie Mae Washington; three sisters-in-law, Linda Smith, Freda Stevens and Alene White; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
