LIFE REFLECTIONS OF HATTIE DELOIS COX

JULY 10, 1971-----JANUARY 2, 2026

Hattie Delois Cox was born on July 10, 1971, to Frank and Cozetta Mack Cox in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas. She was the youngest of 10 sisters and 6 brothers. Her parents nurtured her and were instrumental in her getting a good education and growing spiritually. She attended William B. Travis Elementary School, Marshall Junior High School and was a 1989 graduate of Marshall High School. At the age of 10, Hattie joined the St. John Baptist Church and was baptized. Hattie was a member of the Cherubim Choir, Mass Choir, Mission, Alpha & Omega Christian Workers; and was a in regular attendance at Sunday School and church worship services. In 2015, she started worshipping and praising at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Glen Martin. Hattie Delois enjoyed traveling with her personal caregiver, Sister Mary Cox Johnson; and being transported by her personal chauffeur, Sister Doretha Cox Frazier. Hattie's signature was her heart winning smile and giving hugs. She never met a stranger because of her pleasing personality and humble spirit.

Hattie Cox was preceded in death: by her mother, Cozetta Mack Cox; father, Frank Cox; brother, Emmitt Cox; sister, Barbara Ann Cox Parker; niece, Teresa Bernice Louise Frazier; nephew, Kevin Frazier; and special brothers-in-law, Lonzo Jones and Rickie Earl Frazier (Mr. Fix-It).

She leaves to cherish her memory, SISTERS: Luevenia (Raymond Sr.) Coats of Cedar Hill, TX; Sheryl (Hayward) Truby of Houston, TX; Georgia Jones, Mary Johnson, Corena Williams, Doretha Frazier, Sonya (Vennis) Boyd, all of Marshall, TX; Betty Clinton of Longview, TX; and Nicole Horn of Tyler, TX; BROTHERS: John (Donna) Cox, Willie Cox of Marshall, TX; Franklin Cox of Dallas, TX; Billy Cox of Texarkana, TX and Charles Cox of Longview, TX; a special friend, Mimi Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hattie Delois Cox fought the good fight, she kept the faith and on January 2, 2026, at age 54, she finished her course.
