Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Murry, 87, will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, August 7, 2026, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. and visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Marshall, TX.

Evelyn Davis Murry was born October 11, 1938, in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas to the late Arthur Davis and Preezlia Edwards. She accepted Christ at an early age, and united with St. Mary Baptist Church. She attended the Marshall public schools. She worked at Tyson Food in Carthage, Texas until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Murry, Jr.; her parents, Arthur Davis and Preezlia Edwards; two brothers, Willie Harold Davis and Charles Edward Robertson and one grandchild, Jason Rudd. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Barnes, James Murry, Barbara (Freddie) Jenkins, Agnes York and Sandra Murry. A devoted niece, Janet Perkins; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Miller, Diane Darty and Mary Murry; a special cousin, Betty Leffall; other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
