REMEMBERING EULA MAE JACKSON-WATERS

Eula Mae Jackson-Waters was born July 2, 1929 to Amos Jackson and Josie Puckett Jackson in Marshall, Texas. She transitioned on August 20, 2022 in Arlington, Texas at age 93.

Eula graduated from H. B. Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas and went on to attend Wiley College where she earned a degree in Education. Afterward, she received her master's at Prairie View A&M University.

Eula began her teaching career in Arkansas and then came home to shape the lives of young ladies as Dean of Women at Wiley College from 1971-1985. She also served as Director of Housing at Javis Christian College from 1985-1992. She retired from Marshall Junior High School in 2003 as a special education teacher.

Eula professed a belief in Christ at an early age. She was a life-long member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Usher Board for more than 30 years. Much of that time as president of the Board.

Eula won numerous awards in education and was active in many social clubs and other church organizations. She could never go anywhere without someone stopping her to say hello and express how much she meant to them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eula was predeceased by her father, Amos Jackson and mother, Josie Puckett Jackson; brothers, Julius Jackson, Sr., Eddie B. Jackson and Waldo T. Jackson; daughter, Cheryl Ann Maxwell and son, Augustus Leon Waters, Jr.

Those left to cherish precious memories include her son, David Gregory; granddaughter, Tiffani Butler; grandsons, Christopher Allen, Michael Waters and Patrick Waters; great granddaughter, Kaylin; dear nieces, Emma Allen (Grady), Pamela Collins (David), Glenda Jackson (Pete), Felicia Jackson-Cryer (Roger); nephew, Julius Jackson, Jr. (Pat); and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
