On February 21, 1926, Mr. Anthony Nickerson and Mrs. Lele Butler Nickerson celebrated the birth of their daughter, Erma Lucille. They were so proud of their adorably sweet and precious child. Deeply loved, Erma was affectionately called "Sally" by her family, friends, and neighbors for most of her life.

Erma grew up in Galilee Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior during the pastorate of Rev. Bowden. Very early, she learned Christian stewardship as an essential virtue of a follower of Jesus Christ.

She was educated in the public schools of Marshall and Gladewater.

Erma was married to Moses Anderson, the love of her life. To this union, two children, Mosetta and Merrill Joe, were born. A consummate wife and mother, she worked tirelessly and devotedly for the best interest of the family.

Some of her work experiences included the Darco, city laundries, private home duty, Wiley College, Marshall Library, and sales representative for Rosehill Garden Cemetery.

Her beautiful eyes twinkled when she smiled. She was a loving, kind, energetic, and generous person. Young people loved her because of her ability to relate to them. Although she was a no-nonsense adult, she kept her life fun-filled and exciting. She could also really cook and dance.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Nickerson, her husband, Moses Anderson, her son, Merrill Anderson, Sr., her sister, Orene, and her brothers, Anthony, Jr. and Otha.

Erma will be forever cherished in the minds of her loving and devoted daughter, Mosetta Anderson Wilson, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
