DeWayne Jacqueline Cotton-Thornton was born to Jimmy Charles Cotton and Ophelia Cotton on June 13, 1958 in Dallas, Texas.

Education: High School graduate of Valley High School, Santa Ana, California. Attended college at California State University-Fullerton, Fullerton, California. Earned her Medical Assisting Certification from ATI, Dallas, Texas.

DeWayne's career pathway was unique. She was a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service for many years, worked for accounts receivable for Frito Lay, inventory control for Zale's jewelry, and advisory services for PNC financial services from which she had to retire because of her medical condition. She was always a hard worker, and it showed through her dedication.

Church Affiliation: Immaculate Heart of Mary Church from age 3-18 in Santa Anna, California and True Lee Missionary Baptist Church until decease in Dallas, Texas.

God's Treasure: The Lord called DeWayne on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the residence.

Cotton Leona D. Green, Cornell DeWayne Nunn, Bliss Nunn, Santana Nunn, Kamari Nunn, Sir Davion Nunn, Sir'Riyah Nunn, Kennedi N. Yarbrough, and Steven N. Yarbrough, Jr.; lifelong friends, Joe Billop, Teena Gayle, Anita Taylor, Alva Bledsoe and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
