David Arthur Brooks, I was born to Othera "Sunny Boy" Brooks and Maurine Davis Brooks on March 26, 1947 in Orange, Texas.

David graduated from M. B. North High School in 1965. He then attended Wiley College on an athletic scholarship. He was an outstanding quarterback for the Wiley Wildcats. While in college he met, fell in love and married Patricia Hightower Brooks. To this union three children were born: Ramona Symone Brooks, Los Angeles, CA., David A. Brooks, II (Stacey), St. Paul, Minn., and Albert D. Brooks (Ruth), Springs, TX.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Othera Brooks and Maurine B. Lazenby, two brothers, James Louis Brooks and Otis James Brooks, I and a sister, Edna Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia H. Brooks; one daughter, Ramona Symone Brooks; two sons, David Brooks, II (Stacey) and Albert D. Brooks (Ruth); one sister, Antionette Sterling of Orange TX.; grandchildren, Trayton J. Brooks, Tylan J. Brooks; bonus grandchildren, Destiny, Darius and Damien; one uncle, Riley Brooks of Houston, TX.; and a sister-in-law. Anyone who knew "Scum" loved him and thought a great deal about him.
