Cozetta Mack Cox was born in Elysian Fields, Texas on July 23, 1934 to the parents of the late Jerry Mack and Addie B. (Hattie) Grant.

She was raised in her early age by her mother and step-father, Jack "The Bear" Walton in Carthage, TX. Following the untimely death of her mother, at the age of 5, she and sister, Beatrice, moved to Marshall, TX to live with their Uncle Lieutenant Grant and family. She was raised by her Uncle Lieutenant Grant and spent a great amount of time at the home of Aunt Alversie Fitchure in Carthage, TX.She attended Rosenwald School of Marshall, TX. She sought the Savior accepting Christ at a young age. She was a faithful member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall, TX. She avidly served on the Usher Board, sang in the choir, was an active youth leader and devoted Mission sister.

She was married to the late Frank Cox and to this union sixteen children were born. She was a homemaker and domestic caregiver for many years. she loved Quilting, canning, cooking, riding through the country side, especially going to Carthage, TX. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grand and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Cox; son, Emmitt Cox; grandchildren, Kevin Frazier and Teresa Bernice Frazier and sister, Beatrice Spencer.

She leaves to cherish her memory a legacy: ten daughters, Luevenia (Raymond) Coats of Cedar Hill, TX, Shirley (Hayward) Truby of Houston, TX, Barbara Cox Jones and Nicole Horn both of Tyler, TX, Corena Williams of Gladewater, TX, Betty Clinton of Longview, TX, Mary Johnson, Doretha (Rickey) Frazier, Sonya (Vennis) Boyd and Hattie Cox all of Marshall, TX; one daughter in love, Georgia (Lonzo) Jones of Marshall, TX; five sons, Franklin Cox of Dallas, TX, Charles Cox of Longview, TX, John L. (Donna)Cox Willie Dell Cox and Billy Cox all of Marshall, TX; 33 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
