Funeral services for Billy Gene Haynes will be Saturday, August 10, 2024, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Pine Bluff Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, August 9, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Home from 1 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Billy Gene Haynes was born in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas on that great day of April 16, 1944, to the late Bennie Haynes and Erma Johnson Haynes. At an early age, he was baptized and joined the Pine Bluff Baptist Church. He attended the Harrison County Public Schools. After making his home in Dallas, Texas, he worked in construction and 17 years for Dal Mac Construction until he retired. He united in Holy Matrimony with Miss Doris Jean Perry on June 2, 1972. To this union four children were born. One precedes him in death. Mr. Billy Gene Haynes departed this life Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, two sisters and one grandson. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, a devoted and loving wife, Doris J. Haynes; two sons, Daren (Sonya) Haynes of Marshall, Texas and Stacy (Chris) Haynes of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Shushelia (Joseph) Moon of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Miss Ruth Haynes of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Dorothy Conner of Los Angeles, California; six grandchildren, Cadarius, Chelsea, DeMarquis, Tayler, Collin and Jayden; five great grandchildren, Cadarius, Hailey, Jewel, DeMarco Jr., and Seven; a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
