Funeral services for Mr. Abe Brooks, 84, of Flint, Michigan, will be Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the St. James Cemetery, Marshall, TX. Viewing and Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Abe Brooks was born February 19, 1942, in Gilbert, Louisiana, the son of Rutha M. Brooks. Abe was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church serving as a dedicated servant of the Security Ministry until his health failed.

Mr. Abe Brooks was preceded in death by his mother, Rutha M. Martin; grandparents, Abe and Mamie Brooks; and brother, Earnest Martin.

Mr. Abe Brooks leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Barbara A. Brooks of Flint, MI.; 3 daughters, Toya, Jackie and Javonna (Bo Green) Vaughn all of Marshall, TX; sons, Gary, Afrin (Jan Hendrick) Brooks, Abe Brooks, Jr. all of Shreveport, LA., Derrick (Trina) McClure of Marshall, TX. and Anthony (Charla) McClure of Fate, TX.; god children, Tonneisha Scott, Elwanda Ray, Mandy, Otis, Jimmy, Fred, Travis, Anthony, James, Demetrius Doreace; grandchildren, Afriona Brooks, I'isha Brooks, Damondric Walton, Damecka McClure, Devonte Terry, Darius Wyatt all of Flint, MI., Alexis and Jamyia Brightman; numerous great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Gentry Bowie of Arlington, VA., Juanita McCall, Jean (Alton) Lee and Pamela Joseph all of Winnsboro, LA.; 2 brothers, Robert and James Martin both of Winnsboro, LA.; god brother, C.
